The museum is part way through a Great Places digital project that takes objects from the collections and makes them available in non-museum public spaces. Three artists are working with community groups to choose and create digital installations based on objects at the MRLC. Before lockdown 2 of the artists (Nuala Hussey from Hereford and Catherine Jones from Birmingham) and their groups (Oaks Children’s Centre, Leominster and Blue Diamond Garden Centre, Hereford) were able to get together, select their objects and start work. The 3rd community group had to pull out as the virus took hold and is unlikely to be involved anytime soon. So, following consultation, we have put together a “people’s vote” via the museum face book page to involve as many of the public as possible.http://
People can vote on 5 objects via https://en-gb.facebook.com/herefordmuseums/ There are instructions with each of the posts which are going out every other day but to recap, click and hold on the object you wish to vote for, then click on like which will register the vote and then there is an option to comment. Comments about why you have chosen the object will form part of the evaluation and will be anonymous. Please note that you will need to have a current face book account in order to vote. Apologies but the technology doesn’t extend to non-face book members voting.
If Support Group members on face book can share it far and wide that would be brilliant. Don’t forget to vote yourself and share with family, friends, colleagues. The museum wants to involve as many people as possible:) The vote ends on Wednesday, June 10!
