Heritage Woodcarving and Textiles at the Black and White House Museum
27 July 2023 @ 10:00 am – 3:00 pm

Have you ever wondered how the furniture in the Black and White House was made, or how they carved the fronts of those lovely chests? Or how the house itself was made?
Come and meet our Seventeenth Century Carpenter Hugh Milton working on a replica C17th chest, on July 27th.
Visit Mistress Alison Milton who will be talking all things textile from Thimbles to Bodkins, Spindles to Sheep. She will be demonstrating many of the textile tools you might expect to find in the Seventeenth Century. Also this summer there is an opportunity to meet our volunteer textile demonstrators. Come and see spinning, lace making, tatting, needle felting and embroidery.
Demonstrations will take place on 3rd 10th and 17th August (times will vary).
